67 MINUTES FOR MADIBA

Nkonkobe Local Municipality in partnership with the Department of Public Enterprise, Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture, University of Fort Hare and the South African Traditional Music Awards spent their 67 minutes for Madiba in Alice on 18 July 2014.

The Deputy Minister for DPE Bulelani Mangwanishe, MEC for DSRAC Pemmy Majodina, Honorable Mayor for Nkonkobe LM, Vice Chancellor for UFH and CEO for SATMA led the delegation in the following activities:

  • Donation of equipment (plasma screens, chairs, etc) to Victoria Hospital; cleaning, grass cutting and painting at the hospital.
  • Cleaning of ZK Mathews House.—a revitalisation project of the late Prof’s house in which  DPE Deputy Minister  is supporting. Plans are currently underway to ensure that the legacy of the late ZK Mathews lives on.
  • MEC for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture Pemmy Majodina made an announcement about the SATMAs to be held in Nkonkobe in October 2014.
  • Painting of the UFH Sports Complex.
